Healthy Snacks: Ideas for a Healthy Balanced Lifestyle

When you’re looking for healthy snacks that will not only keep you full and satisfied but are also full of nutrients for a healthy balanced lifestyle there are many healthy options available.

My top picks come down to quick, easy, nutritious, and delicious options that are great for meal prep and that can be portioned and suitable for freezing as a grab-and-go option for our busy lives.

These are all good options that you can make at home without spending a lot of money while helping to achieve your goals, be that for weight loss or to improve your health.

Below are some ideas on Healthy Snacks you can make at home.

Celery Sticks with Cream Cheese

These healthy snacks come in handy when you are in need of a quick and easy no cooking healthy snack. Celery sticks with cream cheese are the perfect choice. There are so many variations, you can also use peanut butter or a healthy French onion dip to pair it with.

Simply spread with a knife or for entertaining to jazz it up you could use a plastic snack bag with the corner cut off and squeeze the cream cheese onto the celery sticks. Garnish with a sprinkle of black pepper, sesame seeds, and fresh chopped herbs.

Veggies and Dip

Veggies and dip can be delicious and nutritious and perfect to add to your Healthy Snacks list. You can make your own dip at home. It’s healthier and contains less sodium than store-bought varieties.

Homemade dips also taste better! But if you are time-poor there are so great alternatives on the market these days.

Keto Nut Bars

Nut Bars are a great meal prep option for healthy snacks and these are also keto friendly.

I tend to stick to keto and low carb as I find this helps me on my weight loss journey. These can be made and portioned into bars and individually wrapped and placed in the freezer for weeks – Trust me they won’t last that long as they are delicious and available anytime for that quick go-to healthy snack.

Healthy Oat Slice

Oat Bars or slices are my alternative to nut bars, especially for my kid’s school snacks.

As most schools are now nut free it’s not possible to pack snacks containing nuts.

For this reason, I make healthy snack bars with oats and choc chips with natural honey or maple syrup.

Keto Banana Bread

Healthy, Keto-friendly, and delicious. This Keto Banana Bread is a perfect snack or afternoon pick-me-up.

I slice and individually wrap each slice and place them in the freezer so I always have them on hand.

When ready I grab a piece out of the freezer and toast in the sandwich press.

Toasty and delicious!
